FRACP Paediatrics Part 1 Written Examination Weekly Teaching Programme 2024-2025 (for Australian-based trainees only)

We Provide

  • A teaching programme preset to guide what topics to study and regularity of lectures ensures a good, steady pace for your study in the months leading up to the exam
  • Lectures by paediatricians (general, community and sub-specialty), child psychiatrists, a paediatric dentist and scientists 
  • 56 one-hour weekly interactive online lectures in real-time, and lecture recordings available on a website specifically aimed at providing a framework of the knowledge necessary for passing Part 1 Paediatrics Written Examinations. Access to the teaching website is extended until the Divisional Clinical Exam 2025. 
  • 6 monthly practice MCQ exams of 32 questions each, compiled by the question writing team, which are integrated with the topic presentations. These are marked and critiqued. 
  • Paper 1 and 2 practice exams of 50 questions each in January 2025
  • Both paper- and computer-based practice exams are available
  • An opportunity to ask questions and to argue

Dates And Times

The course begins on 6 June 2024 and continues through 30 January 2025. The teaching programme is delivered every Thursday afternoon from 2-4pm (NZ time) during these months. Lecture recordings are uploaded on the website every Friday and remain available until the Divisional Clinical Exam in 2025.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

In order to receive a full refund, the request must be submitted in writing for at least 15 days or more. Partial refunds may be provided for less than 15 days' notice in accordance with the guidelines below. Due to the nature of the course, please note this is different from the standard Short Course Cancellation and Refund Policy provided by the University of Auckland.

  • Cancellations made up to 15 days before the first day of the course will receive a 100 per cent refund, minus the card convenience fee.
  • Cancellations made between 8-14 days before the first day of course will receive a 75 per cent refund, minus the card convenience fee.
  • Cancellations less than 8 days from the first day of the course will receive no refund. 

Refunds will only be directed back to those accounts from which the initial payment was made.

We reserve the right to cancel any programme or course for any reason and will not be responsible for airfare, hotel or other costs incurred by participants. Course fees are fully refundable when FMHS cancel a course. 

Registration

We accept registration until the end of October 2024. Late registrations may be accepted; however, the cost and length of access will not change.

Access, Intellectual Property and IT Policy

You will have access to the course materials until the Clinical Exam 2025. Your access to the course materials will not be extended should you change your mind about when you will be sitting your exam. Your credentials and access to the course materials will be disabled end-of-day on the last day of the Clinical Exam 2025.

If you share your login credentials with anyone, you are breaching the University’s Intellectual Property & IT policy. Your credentials and access to the course materials will be disabled on the day it is detected by us, and the course fee will not be refunded. Also, you will not be allowed to participate in any other teaching programmes run by the Department of Paediatrics, the University of Auckland, in the future.
